The past 12 months (July 2015 to June 2016) have been exciting on the National Father and Son Circuit as there were some repeat winners and some new winners emerged.
The Grass Court was first played in 1918 and is the oldest of the four tournaments. It was played at the Longwood Cricket Club in Chestnut Hill, MA on July 13-17, 2015. Peter and Riley Smith defeated Paul and Christian Settles (6-0, 6-3).
The Clay Court was first played in 1949 and is the second oldest of the events. It has been played here at the Cincinnati Tennis Club for 42 years. In July 2015, Peter and Riley Smith defeated Carsten and Bjorn Hoffman (6-1,6-1).
The Hard Court dates back to 1959. In December 2015, it was played at the LaJolla Beach and Tennis Club in La Jolla, CA. Peter and Riley Smith captured their second title of the year by defeating Brett and Brian Joelson (6-4, 6-4).
The Indoor began in 1977 and is the newest of the USTA sanctioned Father and Son National Championships. In March 2016 it was played at the Cherry Hill Racquet Club in Cherry Hill, Jerry and Brett Morse-Karzen defeated Andy and Thomas Lake in an exciting three set match (6-2, 2-6, 6-4).
